CMS has finally released the new requirements for nursing homes. This is the greatest change in practice and care delivery since 1991. The new mandates will become effective in 3 different phases, with the first becoming effective November 28, 2016. In this training, Cat will be providing an overview of the changes, as well as giving guidance regarding survey focus. Specific topics will include: New definitions; resident rights; abuse, neglect & exploitation; admission, transfer/discharge rights; resident assessment; quality of care and quality of life; nursing services; behavioral health services; QAPI; compliance & ethics program; & training requirements.
